Cane. You will need to go as a group or perhaps one or two times to  grasp of the menu which includes snapper, oxtail, and goat curry. People are intrigued to by Trinidadian food - I myself had never tried it but as an African found some things familial and had great expectations.

Cane is a bit on the pricey side, but the food is a nice treat. I got the jerk chicken wings with delicious perfectly seasoned and marinated for the perfect amount of time. The doubles - the Indian bread with the curry chickpeas - were phenomenal too, amazing chutney on top a great mix of like spicy and sweet. I could eat those all day long. For dessert I had the vanilla goat milk soft serve and it was phenomenal, and a smart move considering goat is on the menu.

According to the Washington Post, they have the best snapper in the DMV!

Dare I say another Caribbean classic? The hibiscus-based cocktail has a stark berry colour and is super refreshing. Like lemonade you can drink it as is or pair with some delicious. You may want to ask them to go light on the ice or add an extra shot.

A classic Trinidadian dish you have to try, this deep fried flatbread is topped with cumin-spiced chickpeas and is worth every bite. If you haven’t tried them before this is a good start.

Can you have a Caribbean restaurant without any jerk featuring? Their wings are marinate for 12 hours and pimento smoked. You won’t want to share!

The first time I tried goat milk was in New York City at a parlour where it was the focus, and I Loved it. Goat milk has a special tang to it and I hope Cane keeps it on the menu for dessert lovers. It really is a special treat, including the little sesame candy crunch.
